The 7-iron that changed everything…

Everything's working.

The business is solid.

People respect what you've built.

You feel healthy.

Relationships seem stable.

From the outside, it appears you've got it figured out.

But there's this nagging sense that something's...off.

Like you're one bad quarter, one difficult conversation, one health scare away from everything feeling a lot less stable than it looks.

And then you step onto the golf course.

That four-foot putt shouldn't matter this much.

But standing over it, you feel the same tightness in your chest that shows up in big meetings or conversations over dinner.

The same voice that whispers "don't screw this up" when stakes feel high.

The same grip that tries to control outcomes you can't actually control.

Sound familiar?

Golf isn't exposing a golf problem. It's exposing everything else.

Not long ago, I was standing on the 14th fairway at a private club, staring down a narrow approach to an elevated green with water left and bunkers right.

One of my playing partners (I found out later it was a CEO worth more than I could wrap my head around) was having a meltdown.

All day he was shanking drives.

Misfiring on approaches.

Sending putts past the hole.

He took a call after his tee shot on 14.

It was his son.

Angrily and quickly, he ended the call.

"He's got every advantage and he's f--king it all up!" he said, gripping his 7-iron like he was strangling it. "I don't know what to do about him any more."

I never thought this was possible, but I asked him a probing question that snapped him out of it.

He gave an honest answer and he told me what was really happening.

Here's what nobody tells you about breakthrough moments - they don't happen in conference rooms or on meditation cushions.

They happen in motion.

On the course.

When your guard is down and your truth comes up.

That experience gave me the green light to create something completely different from another mindset workshop or executive coaching program.

It's called SPARK Tee Time™ - and it's the only transformation experience that happens entirely through embodied conversation during a round of golf.

No worksheets.

No journaling.

No sitting in circles talking about your feelings.

Just you, me, 18 holes, and the kind of honest conversation that cracks you open and puts you back together stronger.

“Over breakfast, Bob helped me solve a personnel issue in my company that had been hampering me for months. On the course we worked through my personal BS about scaling my company. We got to the root of the problem and Bob helped me find a way to scale in my own way that not only grows my business but protects my family and golf time, which is the most important thing to me.”

Jim Spaulding, Founder-CEO, Philadelphia PA

Imagine walking off the 18th green with…
  • Crystal clarity on your next big move (the one you've been overthinking for months)
  • That inner fire reignited - but without the desperate edge
  • A way to stay sharp without staying stressed
  • The missing piece that makes everything else click

One day.

One round.

One conversation that changes how you show up everywhere else.

Recently, I played with Marcus, a private equity partner from Chicago in the medical technology space.

He asked me what I did and it prompted him to tell me he'd tried everything.

Tony Robbins, ayahuasca retreats, even hired a $100k executive coach.

"Nothing stuck," he told me on the 6th tee. "I'd get pumped up, then go back to the same patterns."

But then something shifted on the 11th hole.

After a shot wavered offline and he muttered something under his breath.

I asked him one question about his need to "control everything" that made him stop and think.

He started to loosen up after that and actually had a nice laugh.

Not the tight, performative laugh he'd perfected in boardrooms, a laugh indicating he was allowing the moment to happen and not try and control everything.

Here's the brutal truth - you've been trying to think your way to transformation.

More books. More podcasts. More frameworks.

But transformation doesn't happen in your head.

It happens in your body, in motion, in real moments of choice.

Every other approach you've tried has been asking you to sit still and "go deep."

That's like asking a Ferrari to perform in a parking garage.

You're built for motion.

For action.

For dynamic engagement.

The real problem isn't that you need more insight - it's that you need the right environment to let that insight land.

The entire personal development industry has been selling you the wrong medicine.

They've convinced you that transformation requires…

  • Sitting in rooms with strangers
  • Endless introspection
  • Slowing down to speed up
  • "Doing the work" (whatever that means)

It's all designed for people who have time to navel-gaze.

Not for high-performers who need results yesterday and insights that actually stick.

Your window is closing.

Not the window for success - you've already got that handled.

The window for fulfillment.

For actually enjoying what you've built.

Every month you wait, that gap between external success and internal satisfaction gets wider.

Your kids are watching.

Your spouse feels it.

Your body's keeping score.

You can either figure this out now, while you're still at the top of your game...

Or wait until something forces your hand.

A health scare.

A relationship crisis.

A spectacular burnout.

I'm not immune.

One Sunday not long ago, I stepped onto a familiar course thinking I was in for a good day.

But from the first tee, something felt off.

By the third hole, I was muttering under my breath.

By the sixth, I was f-bombing my way down the fairway.

I let every mistake bleed into the next. I played tense, stiff, trying to steer the ball instead of trusting my swing.

Hole after hole, I spiraled.

By the time I tapped in on eighteen, I had shot a 107, my worst score in years.

A week later, I came back to that same course.

This time, I was not fine.

I had tweaked my back the day before, a sharp pain that reminded me with every step that I was not at one hundred percent.

Shot by shot, I swung within myself.

I breathed before every swing instead of barking at myself between shots.

I stayed loose because I had no other choice.

Somewhere on that front nine, something clicked.

I started rolling in birdie putts.

One, then another, then two more.

By the turn, I was even par for the first time in my life.

On a day I showed up hurt, moving slower than usual, with no big plan except to stop muscling through it.

Eighteen holes later, I signed for an 83, my best score ever.

Two Sundays.

Two outcomes.

This is the life of a high performer.

Golf isn't an escape.

Golf is a MIRROR.

For nearly four decades, I have coached basketball (and now golf).

For three decades, I led businesses, teams, and countless projects as an entrepreneur and strategist.

I hustled.

I forced results.

I squeezed every outcome for proof that I was good enough, strong enough, successful enough.

Sometimes, it worked.

But too often, I was exhausted, bracing for the next swing, the next outcome, the next thing to control.

I was gripping the club and life too tight.

And I am not alone.

Every high achiever I know fights this same battle.

Here's what I've learned: The most successful people often sense cracks forming long before anyone else sees them.

Your business looks solid from the outside.

Your relationships appear stable.

Your health seems fine.

But you're starting to notice things:

  • Conversations with your spouse feel more transactional
  • Your team needs you for everything, and you're exhausted by it
  • The work that used to energize you now feels heavy
  • You're questioning whether what you're building actually matters
  • Your body is sending signals you've been ignoring

On the surface, everything's working. Underneath? Something fundamental feels misaligned.

Golf doesn't create these cracks. Golf just exposes them faster than anywhere else.

Because when you're standing over a four-foot putt, there's nowhere to hide.

No team to delegate to.

No strategy to fall back on.

Just you, the pressure, and the truth about how you actually handle moments when control slips away.

This is where golf becomes your most unforgiving mirror.

"Bob was able to see things right in front of me but beyond my line of sight. Bob helped me cut through the temptation to say yes to everything just to land something. He focused on my heart and soul and now I've happily landed in a new role, and many of the aha moments we had during our session resonate with me every day. Choosing to work with Bob was an investment that helped me move forward in life in a beautiful, positive, and uplifting way."

"Bob listens so well it feels like he’s inside your brain. His strength lies in identifying your flow state and how to harness it in all areas of life. During our conversation, his insight, 'how you do one thing is how you do everything,' eased the pressure I was placing on myself. Bob asks the right questions, pulls out your best, and helps you see the steps to success in your journey. He shows up in incredible ways, and I’m grateful for his guidance and judgment-free listening."

SPARK Tee Time™ works because it aligns three powerful forces…

1. Movement - Your brain processes differently when you're walking, swinging, engaging physically

2. Metaphor - Golf mirrors life. Every shot is a decision. Every hole is a fresh start. The course becomes your coach

3. Connection - No vulnerability exercises. Just two people talking straight while doing something that matters

We start with a pre-round clarity call to identify your real question (not the safe one).

Then we play.

We talk.

We let the game reveal what needs revealing.

The breakthrough usually happens between holes 7-12.

Always in motion.

Never forced.

We lock it in at the 19th hole.

Then follow up a week later to ensure the shift sticks.

"My experience with Bob was nothing like what I expected.
He delivered everything I needed and more."

He calls himself a coach, but honestly, that word doesn’t do him justice. My time with Bob felt more like a conversation with a patient, seasoned mentor who genuinely had my best interests at heart. It was less about being advised and more about being partnered with.

He met me exactly where I was, which was precisely what I needed, and asked thoughtful questions that illuminated things I couldn’t see on my own, even though they were right in front of me. Our session felt deeply engaging and, more importantly, safe. I was able to open up about meaningful challenges in my business, and Bob met me there with clarity and care.

I've worked with other coaches before, but Bob is truly one of the best I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with.

The Structure Behind the Magic

SPARK Tee Time™ is a private, all-inclusive day designed for you to ignite your SPARK through honest conversation, powerful reflection, and the surprising wisdom of play.

Every piece of the day is intentional…from the first question over breakfast to the final putt. Here's how it flows…

  • Locations: Chicago, IL or your home course
  • Logistics: Black-car service, two night accommodations, and two meals.
  • Pre-Round Clarity Call: We surface the true question, not the safe one you’ve been repeating.
  • Breakfast: Fuel the body and the mind
  • 18 Holes of Coaching in Motion: Side-by-side, story by story. The course becomes the mirror.
  • Early Dinner + Debrief: We name what shifted and lock in what matters.
  • Follow-Up SPARK Session™: 1 week later, you’ll see just how far the shift has already landed.
  • Optional Plus-1: Bring a key stakeholder (spouse, partner, or co-founder)

The One-Time Investment is $2900 for a day that collapses months of hesitation.

*Chicago-area clients or those that provide their own transportation and lodging get $1000 discount

For perspective: My annual mentorship starts at $50k.

This isn’t for everyone. I run only a handful of Tee Times each quarter. If you want one, claim it.

For a fraction of that, you’ll collapse indecision that’s already burning 10x this fee.

This is not a golf lesson. It’s a pattern reset for your life and business.

It's one day. Permanent shift. Guaranteed.
You walk away with...
  • A Definitive Choice That Ends the Swirl: No more spinning. You leave with a decision you trust because it came from you, not a whiteboard.
  • Nervous System-Level Alignment: Halfway through the round, your shoulders drop. You breathe deeper. And suddenly the real insight lands because your body finally feels safe enough to hear it.
  • The Pattern Revealed and Rewritten: We won’t just talk through your surface problem, we’ll expose the belief running underneath it, and shift it. Fast. The kind of shift that sticks because it’s somatic, not conceptual.

You've got three options here:

Option 1: Keep doing what you're doing. It's working... kind of. You're successful. Just not satisfied.

Option 2: Try another program. Another book. Another framework. Add it to the pile.

Option 3: One day. One round. One conversation that changes everything.

The choice is yours.

But ask yourself - how many more years do you want to spend being excellent at everything except being happy?

Your move.

-Coach Reg

P.S. Oh by the way, that CEO having a meltdown on the 14th fairway? A couple holes later he was calm again and even sank a long putt from the fringe that brought a smile of relief to his face. I shared an insight with him that helped him dis-identify from his son's personal choices and that helped him regain control of hois emotional state. Happens in a moment most times.

Hosted by Bob Regnerus aka “Coach Reg”

I’m Bob Regnerus — but most people just call me Coach Reg.

For nearly forty years, I coached basketball, mentoring over 1,500 athletes through more than 1,500 games. Today, I bring that same pattern recognition, grounded wisdom, and good humor to golf — as the Head Golf Coach at my high school alma mater, and as the creator of SPARK Tee Time™.

As an entrepreneur and strategist for over three decades, I’ve guided thousands of professionals to share their stories, see their patterns, and trust themselves when it matters most.

I’m perfectly capable of shooting a 107 or an 83 — sometimes a week apart. Golf keeps me humble. It also keeps me honest about what really drives performance: your grip on the club and your grip on life.

I know this for certain: How you swing a club reveals how you handle life. Loosen the grip, and you open the door to more freedom and joy — in business, relationships, health, and legacy.

When I’m not coaching or writing, you’ll probably find me on the course, exploring the Carolinas with my wife Arlene, or enjoying time with our two daughters, Anna and Bethany — who keep me grounded and remind me daily that how I show up matters more than any scorecard.

How High Performers Use Golf to Unlock Their Next Level in Business and Life

Whether we play a round together or not...I have created a short book for the golfer who hits snooze Monday through Friday but jumps out of bed before the alarm on Saturday and Sunday because there is a tee time waiting.

It’s for the one who carefully lays out a fresh polo the night before and packs a new sleeve of Pro V1’s like they are packing a lifetime of hope.

This is for the one whose hat collection is more diverse than their 401K, and they are strangely proud of that fact.

It is for the golfer who finishes 18 on a perfect day, looks around, and says, “Let’s go around again.”

For the one who knows in their bones that golf mirrors life — that how they stand over a four-foot putt says something about how they face big decisions, setbacks, and second chances.

It is for the golfer who loves and hates this game — sometimes both on the same hole — but who keeps showing up because deep down, they believe the next round could be the best one yet.

They want the same hope and grit to show up in how they run their business, lead their team, love their family, take care of their health, and leave something meaningful behind.

If that is you — if you love the inner work as much as you love a pure strike down the fairway — this book is your yardage guide for playing the course, and life, with more truth, freedom, and joy.

“If you read this far, you know this day is not about golf. It’s about truth. Bring me your biggest question and I’ll bring the mirror. You’re here because something inside you is ready to shift. Something tells you that this is the time, place, and the person. If you are looking for perfection...for a coach with perfected golf skills and a grasp on all aspects of performance and mindset...please move on...I am a work in progress, but I have a load of experience and intuitive curiosity that I tap into to help you.”
